1. Background
The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco through the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) has offered the Government of the Republic Malawi 130 scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year commencing in September 2026, distributed as follows:
1. University education: 80 Scholarships
2. Vocational training: 30 Scholarships
3. Studies in the Southern Provinces Universities: 20 Scholarships
Applications are, therefore, invited from suitably qualified Malawians who meet the minimum requirements outlined below to apply for the Moroccan Government Scholarships for the 2026/2027 academic year to study in Moroccan public institutions of higher, technical and vocational education. Applicants are encouraged to indicate more than one programme in their applications and also the institution offering the programme. 2. Priority Areas of Study
2.1 University Education
The areas of study under this category include the following: Economics and Management, Educational/Teaching and Human Development Studies, Socio-economic Development Studies, French Language and Literature Studies; and English Language and Literature Studies and other eligible programmes that are available on the AMCI website. Some programmes under this category have the following quotas: Medical Studies (3), Paramedical Studies (4), Business and Management Studies (8), Architecture (1), Engineering and Technological Sciences (8), Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences (1). Applicants must have 6 credits, including English, and must adhere to specific programme requirements.
2.2 Vocational Training Diplomas
The areas of study under this category include the following: Hotel and Tourism Management, Mechanics, Plumbing, Construction, Electrical, Tailoring and Design, Digital and Cinema Arts, Socio-Educational Agent, ICT Technician and other vocational training areas. Under this category, applicants must have credits in English and Mathematics and one of the following Physics or Chemistry or Physical Science or General Sciences. 3. Training Costs Covered by the Scholarship
The Moroccan Government will meet the following training costs: Return Air Ticket, Tuition Fees, Medical Insurance and Student Allowance of $80 per month to cater for accommodation, meals medical insurance and other incidentals. Successful individual applicants and guardians are advised to provide for own financial resources to top up the living expenses not adequately covered by the scholarship as need arises.
4. Public Servants
Eligible public servants who are interested to apply for the scholarships must ensure that they meet Government training policy requirements. In addition to satisfying general eligibility criteria provided under 5, public servants shall be required to submit the following documents to help in determining whether they qualify for a Paid Study Leave or Unpaid Study Leave:
a) PSR 19 Form.
b) Letter of Recommendation from Controlling Officer or Head of Institution certifying that the officer is on a Prioritized Training Plan.

5. General Eligibility Application Criteria
Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:
a) Must be a Malawian.
b) Be aged between 19-23 by September 2026 for those applying for Vocational Training and Under-Graduate Scholarships. Those applying for Post-Graduate Scholarships must be not more than 45 years old by September 2026.
c) Must have MSCE obtained no later than 2024 for those applying for Vocational Training and Under-Graduate Scholarships. Those applying for Post-Graduate Scholarships must have a relevant Bachelors and Masters Certificate.
d) Must have Academic Transcript(s) for those applying for Post-Graduate Scholarships.
e) Must have a Valid Passport (those without a passport should still apply but must immediately start the passport application process).
f) Must attach copies of their National ID and birth certificate.
g) Must indicate details of parents’ occupation and dates of birth in the application letter.
h) Must have a Police Criminal Report and attach a photocopy as they will be required to submit the original to AMCI should they be successful.
i) Must have a Medical Report and attach a photocopy as they will be required to submit the original to AMCI should they be successful.
j) Must have an updated Curriculum Vitae.
Those with knowledge of French Language will have an added advantage, as teaching will be conducted in French. All successful applicants will undergo a one-year French Language Course before being enrolled and registered in their respective chosen Diploma or Degree Courses. Applicants are therefore advised to take French Language classes prior to their departure for Morocco.
6. Method of Application
Interested applicants must submit a letter of application stating clearly their desired area of study, date of birth and contact phone number(s). Copies of the academic documents must be certified/ authenticated by a Commissioner of Oaths. The closing date for receiving applications is 26th June, 2026.
