81 Percent of Candidates Pass 2026 PSLCE and JCE

At least 81 percent of the students who sat for the Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations (PSLCE) and Junior Certificate Examinations (JCE) have passed the exams.

According to the results released, out of the 245,048 candidates who sat for PSLCE, 198,903 have passed, representing an 81.17 percent pass rate.

Furthermore among the 118,511 male candidates, 101,548 passed, representing 85.69 percent, while of the 126,537 female candidates, 97,355 passed, representing 76.94 percent.

In addition , out of the 198,903 candidates who sat for the exams, 110,522 have been selected to start Form 1 in various secondary schools of which 55 994 are boys and 54528 are girls ,this represents a 55.57 percent transition rate, which is higher than the 47.59 percent recorded in 2025.

For the Junior Certificate Examinations, out of 154,880 candidates who sat, 125,777 passed, representing an 81.21 percent pass rate.

Of these, 75,888 were male candidates with 63,774 passing the exams , representing 84.04 percent pass rate, and of the 78,992 female candidates, 62,003 have passed, representing a 78.49 percent pass rate.

Compared to 2025 the pass rate for JCE has increased from 77.61% to the 81. 21 and for PSLCE pass rate had decreased from 87.50 percent to 81.17
